Edith Graves

The Mortician

About

Call me when they bury bodies underwater
It's blue light over murder for me
Crumble like a temple built from future daughters
To wasteland when the oceans recede

She doesn't often have company that’s alive, so she’s more than welcoming to those who do choose her for company, especially since she’s highly introverted and a bit of a workaholic. One can likely tell she doesn’t get much sleep due to the dark circles underneath her eyes, easily noticed in contrast to her pale skin. However, she often hides this with a pair of large, antique looking glasses and circular, darkened lenses. When she’s not wearing them, her right eye is revealed to be a bright, striking green. Its partner is milky white and surrounded by rough, ruined skin. Burn scars creep across the left side of her face, trailing down toward her chin. Nonetheless, she can often be seen acknowledging passersby with a shy smile.Dust often coats the bottom of her robes from her choice in work, and some of her attire, while lavish, seems outdated and macabre. She often chooses to wear a mix of blacks, greys, and blues.
Her long dresses conceal the majority of her form, but one can easily tell it’s waifish and fragile. Yet those attuned to magic may sense that whatever she physically lacks in strength, she was gifted tenfold with her aether. She lends her aid as a healer whenever she can. Nowadays, she is only able to heal with supplies and herbs, rather than her magic.
She leaves those she assists with a soft, quiet prayer. She prays for their safety, and she prays not to see them in different circumstances, where they might cross her table.

NoteworthyEyes: Her right eye is revealed to be a bright, striking green. Its partner is milky white and surrounded by rough, ruined skin.Hair: Black and her bangs swept in her face to conceal her blind eye and majority of her scarring.Scars: Several small burns spread downward from the left side of her face, trailing her cheek and down toward her chin. Her hands and inner forearms also bear these matching wounds, hinting whatever happened was part of the same accident. Under her robes the same scars creep down the entire left side of her form.Shadow: At rare times her shadow doesn't seem quite right, be it in its size or a second out of sync.

How can I put it down into words?
When it's almost too much for my soul alone

In a city of ice there are burning cathedrals
Turning the skies into glass
And though echoing futures are the buckling sutures
That hold shut the wounds of the past

Ishgardian:

Coming from a wealthy, upper class family most Ishgardians might recognize Edith. She was adopted into the Graves family and soon became a mortician after her accident. The once full of life girl became reserved and quiet, finding company with the dead.

Cold hands, warm heart:

When she's not working, she often offers healing to those in need.

Church:

She frequents the church in Ishgard, she may offer those who ask a quiet prayer.

Haunted:

Edith...has some friends.

Questionable Company:

It's a wonder how she ended up in company with conmen and criminals.
